Post images are not automatically being turned into featured ones WordPress

I have Auto Post Thumbnail installed but something seems to be stopping it from working as you can see here with the "Studies confirm prayer" post:

If it were being turned into a featured image, it would show up on the front page of the site.

Hi Sidian,

Have you recently upgraded your wordpress to 3.4+ version? In such a case, your issue has to do with the incompatibility of the Auto Post Thumbnail to the latest wordpress version as WordPress changed the way metadata is associated with the post.

The fix to this problem is described in detail here: [[LINK href=""]]How To Fix Auto Post Thumbnail on WordPress 3.4 (SEO-Friendly!)[[/LINK]]

I hope the solutions works for you.

And it gives me this error when I visit the file in my browser (Chrome): Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home/sidserver/ on line 8

I think your plugin works. The problem might be with your image itself, which is hot-linked and has no extension.

Just save the image to your computer as jpg and reupload it. Or simply paste this image into your blog post:

Hi oomskaap, I'm also using Auto Save Remote Image which "automatically downloads the first remote image from a post and sets it as the featured image.", but still no go.
