Cannot upload picture, the problem comes back every now and then WordPress

I can't upload media on my wordpress website. I tried to deactivate all plugin 1 by 1 and change the folder permission to 777 it doesn't work. What it does instead it's to add some random jpeg that aren't the one I added and that I cannot see nor publish. this is a name example: img-20160105-wa0002-2

I also tried to raise the upload max limit to 256MB but that doesn't help either.

this is the address:

I already had this problem last year and the year before, it seems to come back somehow.

I really would like to find a fix that will last forever, I am waisting so much time trying to look for it!

I haven't installed any new plugin recently either.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hariprasad Vijayan answers:

Hello Tim,

Can you provide access to your site to check the issue?

Hariprasad Vijayan comments:

Look like theme restricting high resolution image. Optimize image resolution then it will work.

artaudlemomo comments:

That worked! thank you so much hariprasad.

Arnav Joy answers:

I think it should be file permission , and when it comes new month and new year you get same problem.
please read this

and adjust your folder permission.

Navjot Singh answers:

Are you on a shared host or a VPS?

artaudlemomo comments:

Hi Navjot,

I'm not sure what it means, my server provider is 1and1 in Spain, hope this helps,

Rempty answers:

Check your disk quota and your error_log file maybe is a problem with the hosting.

artaudlemomo comments:

Hi Rempty,

How can I do that?

Rempty comments:

Edit wp-config.php and enable debug

define('WP_DEBUG', false);
define('WP_DEBUG', true);

And try to upload a image again.
Or via ftp download error_log.

artaudlemomo comments:

I tried to change my config.php file by adding these: define('WP_DEBUG', true);
define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);

I reproduced the error but there id no debug.log file created in wp-content.

I'm not sure what to do,

Plz send me a private message with a login to your wp-admin

Bob answers:

Does it happen every time or sometime?
Sometime it happens when we try to upload image on timed out session. just log in again and it should work.

does it started after updating wordpress or any other plugin?

have you moved your hosts or moved site from one domain to another?

try to enable/disable "Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders" under SETTINGS > MEDIA.

Bob comments:

You can also try this technique to find the actual issue(see error message).

Bob comments:

Your website tries to load

I think that path is wrong. try to fix it.

artaudlemomo comments:

Hi Bob,

thnk for your help, I tried that: ry to enable/disable "Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders" under SETTINGS > MEDIA. it didn't work.

I will look at your other two messages tomorrow because I am going to sleep now.

best wishes,

Hi Bob,

I tried to follow the step by step guide and in preview I get: This request has no preview available.

I'm so disappointed I really thought that was gonna help. I tried on chrome and firefox (blank).
