Foreach post listing using custom fields to control post order

I need someone that can jump on Skype with me and help me change the way this coder designed this thesis custom functions for the post order.

Originally it was controlled via a Post Order plugin but it has messed up twice and I'm tired of it, I'd rather just get someone to help me use custom fields to control the post order with a numbering system.
